Mary Puppins specialises in the issues owners face bringing home a new puppy and making sure that your puppy's critical period is spent desensitising him/her to all sorts of environmental and social settings. Plus building dogs obedience skills and relationship with their handler.
Initial Consults look at what you'd like to achieve with your dog based on becoming the family dog with lovely manners and the obedience you desire.
I suggest a 1.5hr Initial Consultation to discuss your obedience hopes and work out a program that best suits your needs.
An Initial consult is not required for the Puppy Confidence and Exposure Program or the Welcome Home Puppy Session.

Start TrainingOur Private Puppy Confidence and Exposure Training Course Will Teach:
- Our proven communication system so that your puppy knows exactly when its on the right track and what you are expecting from him/her
- How to use what motivates your puppy to do what you want (food / toys / affection)
- How to manage your puppy at home-sleeping arrangements, managing their space in the house, teaching independence, nutrition for optimal health and longevity
- How to address common puppy behaviour problems: puppy biting / destructive behaviours / puppy toilet training
- How to teach the foundations of basic obedience training skills such as: drop, come, sit, name recognition, beginnings of loose leash walking so that puppy can move on to obedience courses afterwards.
- Exposure training to different environments, people, surfaces, wheels, noises, vaccinated dogs etc
- Confidence games to produce engagement with owner and confidence in puppy

We use balanced and gentle methods, based on play and reward tailored to yours and your dog's obedience needs, to ensure your dog receives the best private in-home dog obedience training available.
Private Dog Obedience Training Courses Will Teach You:
- Our proven communication system so your dog understands exactly what you are asking from him/her
- How to use what motivates your dog in training (food / toys / affection)
- How to establish appropriate boundaries and manners with your dog in and out of your home
- How to achieve a loose leash walk (and stop pulling) so walking is enjoyable for both of you
- Basic dog obedience commands ( Come / Place / Sit / Down)

Foundation Package
For those puppies or dogs who have been through their critical period (up to 16 weeks of age) and now need to learn how to be a well mannered doggo out in society.
This program will teach all the basics and set you up to continue your journey out in public.
In this program, puppy works with me to speed up the learning process, as well as lessons with the owner so you become an expert handler as well. This program is very hands on and requires you to spend minimum 10mins a day practicing what we are working on. You will then upload video homework, multiple times a week on to your own training page that I will review and give feedback so you can progress In between lessons.
Things we are likely to cover are:
- Door manners at home & incl car exits
- Crate training
- Visitor manners-not jumping up
- The importance of play (engagement)
- Sit hold
- Drop hold
- Recall
- Loose leash walking
- Place training
This course is to give you a good foundation to continue with your training throughout your dogs first 2 years. Many clients often continue with WALK & TRAIN packages to keep progressing their dog’s training once this package ends to teach proficiency in lots of environments.
There are just so many benefits to having a dog who can do as asked in a public setting. More freedom being the ultimate reward to training.
